This blog post is just to confirm that I am indeed, still active and potting, it’s just I tend to spend my time making or faffing about with pots and not on my website – apologies. The latest, up to date happenings are on Instagram for those of you on social media.
January and February are usually quieter months – and also it’s totally freezing in the pottery (both at home and at Brougham Hall). Accordingly I’m trying to do a mix of experiments and building up stock. I was just going to spend the time experimenting, and then I had a bit of a panic and realised that actually, I do need some stock!
Current projects therefore include:
- Making mugs – I have a batch of swimming mugs, and some new Hallin Fell mugs in progress
- Making some more of my copper green vases
- Creating a small batch of my latest update to my yarn bowls
- Glaze testing – I will shortly be mixing some new glazes
- Working on my new Mull range – which has involved ordering some new clay bodies.
To be honest, I’ve got slightly overwhelmed with all the things that I want to do, so I need a couple of decent lists. I definitely need to start on some more raku and I also need to learn to take some decent photos.
So blog post done, to confirm I exist (after totally breaking my website last night, which was very stressful) and potting is continuing. I hope to see you in 2024!
