Swimming mugs are back in stock!

  • by

I am delighted to announce that swimming mugs are finally back in stock, in time for Christmas. I pretty much sold out at PotFest four weeks ago, and thanks to my four (to six) week making cycle, I’ve finally got another batch good to go! Thank you to every one who has been very patiently waiting. Please check out my shop for details. This season, the skins swimmers are in red swimsuits (to match the bobble hats).

I’ve also decided to make the last couple of barnacle pots from PotFest available online at the same time. I’m still so thrilled with the reaction to this new range. I enjoy making them very much, so it’s a delight that the first pieces have proved so popular and it’s given me the confidence to keep going.

The last few weeks have been a whirl-wind. I’ve been making lots of mugs and yarn bowls for Christmas, and adjusting to an exciting new regime. Mary Chappelhow has kindly invited me to join her and the rest of the amazing potters in her studio at Brougham Hall, so I am now officially working out of her studio one day a week. Much as I love my garage set-up, it’s fabulous actually having people to talk to and share coffee breaks and lunches with. I’m feeling very privileged to have been asked. It’s been a bit of a secret wish ever since I started having lessons with Mary back in 2016 that one day I could somehow join the hallowed ranks of potters at Brougham – and it’s finally happened.

I have lots of ideas for 2024, but for now the targets are – the Wonderful Wild Women Christmas Market (as I loved it so much last year), something for my village – and then a rest over Christmas. After that, I want to turn my ideas into plans. I have so many thoughts about ways to take the black clay, and I want to spend time during the quiet months of January and February developing new glazes for my forthcoming homeware range. I have a lot of ideas, and it’s exciting!
