Hello! How on earth is it already the middle of February!! The last few weeks have flown by and I’ve been feeling a little bit disorganised for the last few weeks. But at least it’s starting to feel a little more spring like, and so hopefully I can sort myself out and get focused with the lighter nights and longer days. I’m currently working on far too many projects all at once – new clays, new glazes for existing clays and new designs, all on top of generating some actual stock. Which is possibly a bit *much*….but I find it hard not to get carried away. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m pleased to say that amidst all the experimenting, I have managed to get a new design out and into the wild inspired by a walk I took around Hallin Fell last autumn. It’s taken a little while to sort out the glazes and the patterns, but I now have, ready for spring, two designs on my mugs. One with the lake and hills behind fringed with trees, and one with hills and autumnal trees (and some with a few sheep). So well done me for being two seasons behind. (What can I say, I needed to do tests, and experiments and mix some new glazes and pottery is not a speedy process.) I’m thinking the best way to get in sync will be simply to drop behind another two seasons! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the subject of seasons, in preparation for Spring, I refreshed my shelves at Brougham this week. I have my copper-green range at the top, the swimming mugs and a selection of bud vases, ready for spring flowers, my new hand-painted Hallin Fell mugs, homeware, raku and a selection of samples and seconds at the bottom. It’s all bright and sparkling, so do pop in if you are passing through. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
